Case Management

Through a partnership with Ozark Center, the Board provides funding to citizens in Newton County that request services for developmental disabilities when there are no other funds available. 

Applicants pay nothing to find out if they qualify and insurance or medicaid may cover some of the costs.

Community Activities

Through a partnership with Community Support Services, the Board provides funding for citizens in Newton County with developmental disabilities for various community activities and events. 

Activities such as bowling, dances, Summer Carnival and the Christmas Banquet.

Employment Opportunities

Crowder Industries, Inc. provides extended employment opportunities in the production environment to physically and mentally challenged individuals over the age of 16 years, who are realistically unemployable in a competitive industry.

Transportation

Through a partnership with Oats Transportation, the Board provides funding to Oats for citizens in Newton County with developmental disabilities, for transportation at no cost for necessary appointments, activities, and employment.

The Board, created in 2015 is a political subdivision and it is the Board's responsibility to monitor and guide the expenditure of county funds to ensure that Newton County citizens with developmental disabilities are being well served.
